Independent PPC audit · for business owners
Your agency runs your Google Ads. Get an independent PPC audit.
The report is built from your account's data, not your agency's slides: where the budget goes, whether sales are tracked, and what to ask them to fix. For business owners and marketing managers who work with an agency.
First audit free. Then €39 per audit, or Monitor at €29 a month.
Automated audit · 79 checks · 10–15 minutes
What an independent PPC audit shows you
Your agency sends reports. This one comes from the account itself: an automated Google Ads audit service that reads the data through the Google Ads API, so you get three questions answered with your own numbers.
- 01 Where does the budget go?
Spend per campaign and the places where budget runs without results — with numbers from your account, not from your agency's slides.
- 02 Are sales and leads actually being counted?
19 conversion-tracking checks. If tracking is set up wrong, the cost per lead in any report is a guess.
- 03 What should I ask them to fix?
A prioritized action plan in plain language, and a public link to the report you can send to your agency.
How it works
- 01
Sign in with Google and pick the ad account. We only read your data and never change anything.
- 02
The PPC account audit runs by itself: 79 checks, usually 10–15 minutes.
- 03
Get the report: a 0–100 score, findings by priority and an action plan.
- 04
Send the link to your agency or walk through it together.
After the audit: keep an eye on the account
Monitor, at €29 a month, gives you 4 audits a month. One account gets an automatic audit every 2 weeks, and after each one an email with what changed since the previous audit: what was fixed, what is still open and how the score moved.
Each automatic audit also lists the changes made in the account since the previous one, and who made them: a person, Google applying its own recommendations, or another tool. The number of changes is a fact, not a rating of anyone's work.
Use the remaining audits to check the account after your agency makes changes.

What PPC management costs — and what you can check yourself
PPC management pricing usually follows one of a few models: a fixed monthly fee, a percentage of your ad spend, or a mix of the two; some agencies also charge separately for the initial setup. Google Ads management fees on their own say little about value — the same fee can pay for very different work.
Whatever you pay, a few things should be true of the account: conversion tracking works; the budget isn't drifting to searches that never convert; brand searches are reported separately, because they make results look better than the paid work behind them; and your business has its own admin access.
Why brand searches flatter the numbers
The audit checks tracking, wasted spend and brand separation from the account's data, and warns when too many people have admin access. Who exactly has it, you check yourself in Google Ads under Admin → Access and security. The audit doesn't know what you pay your agency — that isn't in Google Ads — and it doesn't compare agencies.
Honest about the limits
An automated paid search audit: 79 checks. Search and Performance Max are checked in depth; Display, Video and Shopping get basic checks only.
It isn't a replacement for your agency and it doesn't rate people: it shows the state of the account they run, from your account's data.
Whitead also runs ad campaigns for some clients. The audit is automated and works the same way whoever runs your account.
The first audit is free. After that it's €39 per audit, or Monitor at €29 a month. No contract. Refund Policy.
Questions business owners ask
What is an independent PPC audit, and what does it check?
An automated audit of your Google Ads account: 79 checks against Whitead's rules. Search and Performance Max are checked in depth; Display, Video and Shopping at a basic level. Independent means independent of whoever runs your ads — the data comes straight from the account through the Google Ads API, not from their reports. You get a 0–100 score for the setup, findings by priority with explanations, an estimate of the money at risk each month (as ranges) and an action plan in plain language. The audit doesn't see your contract, your CRM (unless sales are imported as conversions), calls, or work done outside the account.
How much does PPC management cost — and how do I know if it's worth it?
Common pricing models are a fixed monthly fee, a percentage of ad spend, or a mix of the two; setup is sometimes billed separately. The price alone doesn't show the value. Whatever you pay, check that your business has admin access to its own account, that conversion tracking works, how much budget goes to searches without results, and whether brand traffic — which flatters reports — is separated. Whitead doesn't know what you pay your agency (that isn't in Google Ads) and doesn't compare agencies: it shows the state of the account you pay to have managed.
Can I audit my Google Ads account if my agency manages it?
Yes, if your Google login has access to the ad account: sign in with it and pick the account. If the list of accounts is empty, that login has no access — ask your agency to add your email as a user. The audit changes nothing, so it doesn't get in the way of their work. Either way, your business should have its own admin access to its account.
Will Whitead change anything in my account?
No. Whitead only reads your data: it never creates, edits, pauses or deletes anything, and this is enforced in our code. Google's consent screen shows a broad access request because the Google Ads API has a single access level; Whitead uses it for reading only. You can revoke access at any time in your Google Account, under third-party apps.
Are my sales and leads actually being tracked?
The audit runs 19 conversion-tracking checks, among them: whether primary conversions are set up and recording; micro-conversions marked as primary; duplicate primary conversions; lead counting (One or Every); conversion values for e-commerce; auto-tagging; Consent Mode v2 for EEA and UK traffic; Enhanced Conversions; the attribution model; and tROAS without conversion values. If tracking is broken, the cost per lead in any report is unreliable, so it gets fixed first.
Can I see what my agency changed in Google Ads?
Google Ads itself has a Change history: who changed what, and when. With Monitor, each automatic audit (every 2 weeks) lists the changes made since the previous one and who made them — a person, Google's auto-applied recommendations or another tool — and compares the account with the previous audit: what was fixed, what is still open and how the score moved. Keep in mind that the number of changes says nothing about the quality of the work.
Changes Google applies by itself: auto-applied recommendations
Should I audit my account before changing PPC agency?
Yes. An audit gives you a baseline — tracking, wasted spend, structure — and you can share the report link with candidate agencies, so everyone works from the same facts. After the switch, run another audit in 2–4 weeks, and consider Monitor for the first months. Before the old contract ends, make sure admin access to the account stays with your business.
Does the report rate my agency? Can I share it with them?
It doesn't rate people. The audit sees the account's settings and data, not the work behind them — strategy, negotiations, creative. Many findings can have a legitimate reason, so raise them with your agency as questions. You can share a public link that opens without signing in, or a PDF or Excel file.
How much does the audit cost?
Your first audit is free, no card needed. After that it's €39 per audit, or Monitor at €29 a month: 4 audits a month and an automatic audit every 2 weeks. No contract — cancel any time.
